Public Pre-K in New Jersey

New Jersey continues to expand the public preschool initiative, with several districts offering free or reduced tuition pricing. As many of these programs open for registration early in the year, be sure to apply early to avoid missing registration deadlines.

Eligibility is determined by the district, and you’ll need to apply through your local school district website and submit your child’s information.

Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)

The New Jersey CCAP can help income-eligible families who are working, in school or in job training to pay for child care. You must be a New Jersey resident and US Citizen, must be working or attending school full-time, and meet income requirements.

Work First New Jersey (WFNJ)

Work First New Jersey (WFNJ/TANF). provides monthly child care support among other benefits for eligible New Jersey residents.
